Epoxies consist of a resin and a hardener that when mixed start the desired curing process. Epoxies can be chemically formulated to allow for various cure times depending on the desired application set times required for specific jobs. Additionally, epoxies can be formulated to meet specific bonding characteristics for specific substrates. The Original Super Glue® and Pro Seal® brand epoxies come in a variety of formulas including the following: instant setting, delayed set, quick setting, quick setting gels, metal epoxy, waterproof epoxy, Copper-Bond® epoxy. There are single use syringe applicators, 1 oz. syringe applicators, tubes, contractor's size epoxies, and even a special formula syringe applicator specially formulated for fast setting plastic fusion.

I used the epoxy to repair my daughter's plastic picnic table. I was able to fix it after the plastic brace which kept it from collapsing was broke. My husband had it set out for trash and was surprised to see it set-up in the backyard the next day. He thought that I had purchased a new one and was pleased to hear that I found a wonderful product which saved our investment.
Two years ago I bought a 1991 GMC S-15 pickup at a lien sale. The speedometer didn't work. The day came to fix it; I looked under the vhicle and saw where to connect the cable to the transmission--but no cable. Someone had replaced the transmission with an older unit: the pickup had an electronic speedometer and the replacement transmission had a connection for a mechanical cable. After much research and some instruction from the engineers who had designed the transmission, I bought a replacement extension housing, spline wheel and transducer. I removed the old extension housing and the speedometer cable drive gear, which was fastened with a pin. But the new spline wheel did not use any pin. So I cleaned the transmission shaft as best as I could, slid over it the new spline wheel, and on the rear, lower side of the shaft (it was dangling down from the front) at the wheel I pasted masking tape. Then I squirted Future Glue on the upper side of the joint between the spline wheel and the shaft, and waited 24 hours. Then I poured epoxy cement after the Future Glue, and waited another 24 hours. Then I reassembled everything. The speedometer still works perfectly after at least two years and 20,000 miles.
