Ah, Summer!!  What a wonderful time to travel and reconnect with family and friends!  Heading off on the open road in a recreational vehicle or motorhome is so much fun!  What a sense of independence and adventure … exploring our world … there’s no better feeling in the world!

Until, of course, there’s a breakdown or a problem … now that is no fun!

Boy, do we ever have a great tip for you!

This bit of “motorhome”  travel advice came in from our customer E. Fierst:

“I purchased a new motorhome last summer in Florida.  It does rain a bit at times in Florida.  I soon discovered that one of my taillights was accumulating some moisture.  I told the RV tech that was going through my list of repairs that seems to come standard with the purchase of a new RV about it.  He sealed the taillight assembly with Pro Seal RTV Silicone Adhesive and Sealant.  I questioned him about using a silicone sealer for this application.  He assurred me that this product would work and that it would last.  He told me about the durability and versatality of this sealer and told me that he uses it on almost everything that needs to be sealed in RVs and it has never failed him.  Then he gave me a tube of your product to try for myself.  I’ve used it to reapply automotive trim, seal an outdoor lighting fixture, reapply the backing on my wife’s mirror, repair a cracked fitting to our vacuum cleaner and on and on.   I’m convinced.  This is now one of my essentials in my DIY supplies.”

clear-silicone-sealantThis is such great advice.  Thanks, E. Fierst, for sharing your story with us and helping us spread the word about the wonderful features and benefits of our Pro Seal Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive & Sealant!  The uses are endless!!  It provides a waterproof seal and remains flexible!  A terrific product!

We agree, do not leave home without it!!

To Happy Trails and Travels!!  Cheers!! 🙂

Earth Day 2013

Earth Day is April 22, 2013!   This year’s theme is “face of climate change”.  We know that recycling has had a positive effect on our environment.  Repairing, reusing, and recycling are some of the main reasons consumers are stuck on Super Glue Corporation products!  Over the years we’ve blogged about many different types of recycling projects …. Here’s a recap of just a few of our favorites:

BUILDING A MINI HOVERCRAFT using old cds, bottle caps, balloons and super glue ** FUN **

BIRDFEEDERS made from old cd cases, and super glue ** CREATIVE **

DECORATIVE SWITCHPLATE COVERS reusing old neckties and contact cement to decorate plain switchplate covers ** FASHION FORWARD IDEAS FOR YOUR HOME **

VASES polymer clay flowers attached to old glass jars using super glue and paint ** WOW **

EASTER EGG ANEMOMETER (instrument for measuring wind force and speed) you’ll have to see this one to believe it .. just click the link 😉 ** SPRING & SCIENCE **

You can find more Earth Day project ideas by going to our blog and seach “recycle” or check out our PINTEREST board titled “Recycling with The Original Super Glue“!

Like New! Super Glue & Plastics

We were thrilled to receive this photo and testimonial from one of our cherished customers in Dallas, Texas.  “Shirl” wrote in to tell us how super glue was able to repair one of her household treasures:

“Hi!  I have a ‘super glue testimonial’ – I have a Lucite ice bucket that has a detachable lid.  The lid fits into the bucket with a small Lucite fob.  In my haste the other day the lid fell and the fob broke away from its ‘place’.  I used the glue and allowed it to dry and ‘eureka’!!! it worked!!!!  Is that good or what???”

Shirl, we think that’s not just good – it’s GREAT!  THANKS for sharing your story!  Our customers are the most valuable resource our research and development team has in its “toolbox”.  Customer stories provide THE BEST product feedback and help us tailor our products to meet the wide variety of challenges our customers encounter on a daily basis.  We especially liked this feedback as certain plastics have posed a problem at times, in the past, for super glues

Plastics today can be made out of many different chemicals and consist of a variety of substrates as many plastics (particularly kids’ toys) are often made from recycled materials.  This can be problematic when developing a glue for the general category of “plastics” because the term “plastics” can actually reference a lot of different materials and substrates.  We’re glad that The Original Super Glue(R) worked for Shirl’s Lucite ice bucket, but you may appreciate knowing we also have a unique super glue made just for plastics, too.  It is called Plastic-Fuse and works when other super glues won’t.  The key to this glue is the primer that you apply to the surface of the plastic prior to applying the Future Glue Gel(R).  It works best for use with polyethylene and polypropylene based materials also known as “plastics”.  This unique product solution – job specific to plastics – came about as a result of customer feedback.  We can’t overemphasize how much we value this type of  input!!

If you have a story about how one of our products worked to solve one of your project challenges, or if you haven’t yet found an adhesive product that works well  for one of your project challenges, tell us – we want to hear from you – and you may win some free super glue!
