What do the Rolling Stones have to do with Super Glue?

Well, apparently members of the Rolling Stones band have been known to use super glue to fix their teeth!  According to band member, Ron Wood, talking about his veneers, (in an interview with The Guardian about his new book) both he and Keith Richards have been known to use household glue to fix their teeth in emergencies.  Here’s a quote from the article:

“A couple of these have fallen out. I got the superglue out. Luckily, last time this one fell out Ana had some glue in her cupboard.” She glued them back in with superglue?

“I don’t think we want to talk about that in the article,” his manager Sherry Daly says.

“Nah, it was dental glue,” Wood says. “Keith did it with superglue once. It’s a good stand-by.”

Well, guess what Ron?  You and Keith are not alone.  According to a Chicago Dental Society survey:

“Nearly 70 percent of dentists have taken care of a patient who tried to treat their own dental problem before visiting the dentist.  The most common home treatment among patients, dentists said, is Super Glue for broken dental work, like crowns and dentures.”

We can second that finding.  Many of our customers write in to tell us how well super glue worked as an emergency solution for their crowns and other dental problems.  We do not condone the use of our products for these purposes, but we often hear that super glue does get people through until they can get in to see their dentists.

This news gives us all something to chew on anyway! 🙂
